Rand SchulmanRand Schulman

Rand helped create an industry – inventing brand name online marketing and new media products from benchmark vendors; WebSideStory, Keylime Software, WebTrends, and InsideView. In 2005 he was named one of the Top 100 BtoB marketing executives by BtoB Magazine. He is regularly quoted in the WSJ, Investor’s Business Daily and Business Week and in numerous marketing & media publications, including AdWeek, and Advertising Age. He is a founder and past board member of the Web Analytics Association. Rand has led world known brands as EVP at Software Publishing/Harvard Graphics, and built a public interactive agency at Vizicom. He founded and was CEO of Keylime Software, acquired by Yahoo in 2000, which was one of the first SaaS companies; headed product and strategy at WebTrends (acquired by Francisco Partners), and was the CMO of both WebSideStory (IPO) and InsideView (Top Tier VC Funded) until he and Pelin formed the Schulman+Thorogood Group.

Currently Rand sits on the Board and advises – Web Analytic Consulting Company, Technology Leaders; Mobile Analytics Company Motally; and Social Media Analytics Firm ViralHeat and SaaS – based Medical Billing Company XIFIN. As a regular speaker, Rand is well known by both technology analysts and financial institutions. Rand has been an executive officer on two IPO teams (TriTeal in 96 and WebSideStory in 2005), and has seen two of his firms acquired (Island Graphics and Keylime Software). He currently advises a number of Investment Banks, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms about sector-shifts and opportunities in new media and marketing. He has spearheaded the acquisition of numerous online media companies in the decade. Rand holds a BA in English and Journalism from the University of the Pacific.

Throughout her career, Pelin Wood Thorogood has been in the forefront of emerging technologies and trends. During her more than 15 years as a high technology marketing executive, Pelin has led the go-to-market strategy for WebSideStory’s on-demand online marketing suite (acquired by Omniture), extended Peregrine Systems’ enterprise software business (acquired by HP) into the web-based employee self service (ESS) category, and in the mid 90s, launched one the very first mobile B2B applications designed for the Windows CE platform. Her success with venture backed start-ups, rewarding creativity and speed, as well as public companies that thrive on process and fiscal discipline underscore the diversity of her skills and the strength of her approach.

Currently Pelin is CEO at Anametrix, and sits on boards and advises new media and cloud computing companies focused on solving sales and marketing problems – Online Marketing and Media Company Online Marketing Connect; Sales Intelligence Company InsideView; Inbound Marketing Company Eightfold Logic, Content Delivery Network Limelight Networks; Web Analytics Consulting Company Technology Leaders; – and serves a virtual Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management. Pelin was also instrumental in defining the Sales 2.0 Movement. She is a regular speaker and author on Social Selling, Establishing a Culture of Measurement, and Sales and Marketing Alignment and is recognized for her passion for the subjects by technology analysts and pundits alike. Most recently, Pelin was the Senior Vice President of Marketing for WebSideStory, a leading provider of real-time, multi-channel analytics solutions. Pelin holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research, Master of Engineering and MBA degrees, all from Cornell University.
